Lichtspielklub presents

British Shorts in Budapest

The main goal of the festival is to show films from students studying in the UK to a Hungarian audience. We will screen films from students who study media production at the University of Bedfordshire, film at the National Film and Television School, The London Film Academy, The Royal College of Art, music at the London College of Music and Media and also from young professionals.
The festival has been organized with great success in Berlin for the past 2 years.
Throughout the two-day festival, lecturers from the University of Bedfordshire are going to run a workshop. Before the screening Irish music will warm us up, and afterwards Dj InfraGandhi will play.

Program:
We can see the short films (animation, music video, documentary and fiction) in two 60-minute blocks, and in one 85-minute block and after each block there will be a discussion with the audience, with the filmmakers (if they can show up) and with our guests (John Digence and Dave Green). Our goal is a panel discussion, Hungarian film teachers could discuss their experiences with their English counterparts.

Festival Workshop:

Throughout the festival there will be a workshop led by Dave Green és John Digence (filmmakers, and lecturers at the University of Bedfordshire) with the theme: „Travelling in Budapest“. At the first meeting participants will watch Öndivatbemutató (Hajas Tibor, 1976.) and get their task: We will appoint A and B spots in Budapest,

Depending on the number of participants,
we would appoint the following spots:
                Tabán Mozi- Déli Pályaudvar
                Déli Pályaudvar- Kelenföldi Pályaudvar
Kelenföldi Pályaudvar - Móricz Zsigmond körtér
                Móricz Zsigmond Körtér- Vásárcsarnok
                Vásárcsarnok- Astoria, Elte ép.
                Astoria, Elte ép.- Szimpla Kert

and in a 3-minute documentary or fictional film the filmmakers have to get from A to B. Like that the finished films would make a whole by screening them one after another. On the last day of the workshop we will screen the finished films both in Tabán Cinema and in Szimpla Garden.
You can apply on workshop@british-shorts.com. We are expecting people over 17 to participate. The workshop is in English language. You will need your own equipment.
